Payroll Giving

Payroll giving is a great opportunity for you to donate directly from your pay to ANZMES.
It’s an easy and generous way to give regularly, plus you don’t need to wait until the end of the year to claim your tax credit.

Your regular payroll giving will enable ANZMES to continue providing support to people with ME/CFS.
For donations of $5 or more, you receive a third of the donation amount as an immediate tax rebate. Your employer deducts the donation from your pay and forwards the donation to ANZMES. You don’t have to worry about holding on to receipts each year and making rebate claims.

Ask your employer or payer if they offer a Payroll Giving scheme and if they do let them know how much you want to donate, when you want to donate and our information below.
If you are a Spark employee contact your HR department to find out how to set up a regular payroll gift to us.

Donate your Tax Rebate

Did you know that you can claim a 33.3% tax rebate for your charitable donations and this can be donated back to your chosen charity?
Just log in to your secure Inland Revenue online service, myIR, and upload the donation receipts you received from us online at any time. Inland Revenue will then automatically calculate the credit and pay it into the bank account you have provided them with.

So you do not have to complete a paper form at the end of the tax year!
We would love to thank you and acknowledge your donation, so please email info@anzmes.org.nz to advise us of your donation.
Thank you for helping people with ME/CFS to be empowered, informed and supported.

Gift in Celebration

Getting married? Instead of a gift register, you can request your guests make a donation to ANZMES

Gift for a special occasion – do you have a birthday, anniversary, or important celebration coming up? Why not ask your family/whānau and friends to donate to ANZMES in lieu of gifts?

Together your combined gifts give us a real chance to make a tangible difference to the lives of those affected by ME/CFS and associated conditions.

Gift in Memory

Remember a loved one and ask friends and family to donate to ANZMES. Pay tribute by asking people to share their memories when they make a gift to support people with ME/CFS. You can use envelopes that family/whānau and friends can use to make private donations in person at a funeral or tangi, and then deposit the full sum to ANZMES in honour of your loved one.

Leave a Legacy Gift

Do something amazing today that will make a difference tomorrow.
By setting up a gift in your will you can make a long-lasting difference and provide hope to those living with ME/CFS.
Including a gift in your Will helps us plan for a future, where those with ME/CFS who need support, can have it. Bequests pledged in the past provide our vital services today, just as gifts pledged today will help us to be there in the future as well.

It’s easy to make a gift in your Will. One way is to speak to your solicitor/trust company about making a Will, or changing your existing Will to include ANZMES. If you already have a Will you can have a codicil (or an addition or amendment) to your Will drawn up. If you don’t already have a Will, you are invited to use the free Will creation service by Gathered Here.

It is important to talk to your family and loves ones about your will so they understand why you have made your decisions and ensure your wishes are carried out. Your gift, through your estate, will have a tangible impact on the lives of others in your community.
It’s up to you whether you tell us that you have arranged to leave a legacy gift. It is a private matter, however it is helpful for us to have this information so we can thank you in your lifetime. It also means you can begin supporting us now, by being a part of our planning.

There are four main types of gifts you can choose to leave to a charity.

  1. Residual – The remainder of your estate after considering your loved ones
  2. Percentage or fractional – A gift expressed as a percentage or fraction of your estate
  3. Pecuniary or specific – A specified gift which can be money, property or stocks and shares
  4. Whole estate – This comprises your entire estate and is usually left by those without beneficiaries or those wanting to achieve something very significant

Talk to your lawyer about the type of gift that will best suit you and your estate. Gifts left to charities in your will are exempt from inheritance tax and capital gains tax.

Example wording for a Pecuniary or Specific Bequest:
I leave to ANZMES of 43 Princes Street, Dunedin Central, 9016 and Charity Registration Number CC30391 (description of item) absolutely for the general purposes of the said charity and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors.

Example wording for a Residuary Bequest:
I leave to ANZMES of 43 Princes Street, Dunedin, 9016 and Charity Registration Number CC30391 (proportion of residue to be completed) for its general purposes and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or other duly authorised officer shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors.
